TripsBERLIN TRIP FASHION / MUSIC 2017DescriptionBerlin Trip 2017 16th to 20th January 2017 Open to Fashion and Music students. All travel and accommodation are provided. Students will be expected to fund their own expenses. FASHION: Berlin is a European cultural hub with a vibrant music, arts and fashion scene. Visit the iconic sites and take in the specific cultural highlights like the international galleries, museums, fashion spots, and underground music venues. The visit has been synched with Berlin Fashion Week to optimise the fashion presence in the city. MUSIC: The particular focus of the trip will be the legendary Hansa Studios and the Moma Synthesizer Museum. Berlin is known for its cutting-edge Music scene (electronica, 'Krautrock', etc). Students will engage with the history and cultural significance of the Hansa Studios. Prior to the trip, students will have had a master-class with Paul Trynka (author of the definitive biography of David Bowie and former editor of Mojo magazine). Paul will contextualise the trip for the students by providing an insight into the cultural significance of Bowie's 'Berlin period'. The trip is given added significance by the fact that it will coincide with the first anniversary of Bowie's death. |
